God’s Opinion Alone Matters

Read: Hebrews 12:1-4

Imagine you are in an unfamiliar city, far from home, friends and family, when suddenly you are tempted to do something wrong. Is your first thought, “What would others think?” Or is it, “What would God think?” God’s opinion is the one that really matters, and it is never right to do wrong. But have you ever considered why you do what you do when faced with temptation?

Practising Holiness

Read: 1 Samuel 2:2

Our God is majestic in holiness, awesome in praises, and great in working wonders (Exod. 15:11). 1 Sam. 2:2 says, “No one is holy like the Lord, for there is none besides You.” He cannot tolerate the sight of sin (Hab. 1:13). How much ever we try, our righteousness is like filthy rags to Him (Isa. 64:6). However, through the offering of Jesus Christ’s body once and for all on the cross of Calvary, we are sanctified and made holy to come to God’s presence (Heb. 10:10). The blood of Jesus cleanses us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:7).
