In the realm of sports or corporate world, we come across the word “teamwork.” We often hear players and coaches praising members of the team as team players. It’s a quality highly regarded because it is so valuable to the team effort. It is teamwork that enables common people to do uncommon things. The role of the church in the world is a team effort that requires the cooperation of all the members of the body of Christ. Jesus appointed some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ (Eph. 4:11-12).
