Did Jesus Heal Two Blind Men or Just One?

In Matt. 20:29-34, we see that Jesus healed two blind men. But in Mark 10:46-52, we see only one blind man being healed. Did Jesus heal two blind men or just one? Is there any contradiction?

DR. GEORGY’S RESPONSE:

The gospels have events in the life of Jesus that are portrayed from different perspectives. Even though Mark records one person getting healed, this does not mean that there were not two people. We need to note that, Mark does not say that there was only one blind man who was healed. Matthew says there were two people, and where there are two, there is always one! Matthew earlier mentions two demon-possessed men (Matt. 8:28-34), whereas Mark and Luke mention one (Mark 5:1-2; Luke 8:26-27). In the same way, Mark mentions just one blind man probably because one was more prominent, the details of which Mark chose to emphasise. Further, the fact that Mark mentions the name of one blind man, Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus (Mark 10:46), shows that Mark was pointing to the one who was personally known to him.
