Read: Psalm 103:12
There are two barriers existing in the lives of many Christians: unforgiveness and guilt. Unforgiveness keeps us from being able to share what is good in our lives, and guilt causes us continual pain. There are so many parents who are unable to forgive their adult children for the pain they have caused them, and those parents are burdened with the guilt feeling that they are somehow to be blamed for their children’s problems. Sometimes such feelings are so deep-rooted that they don’t know how to get out of them.
Only God can bring about changes in our hearts. As Ps. 103:8-14 reminds us, when we have wronged and disappointed Him, we ask forgiveness and He grants it. He removes our transgressions and guilt “as far as the east is from the west.” What a loving God we have! He doesn’t even keep a record of our sins once we ask forgiveness. If your repentance is sincere, then you can be sure that your heavenly Father has completely forgiven you and accepted you. Can you thank Him for His forgiveness?
