Read: Psalm 51:10
In today’s world, it is easy to fall into various temptations. We need God’s constant guidance through His Word to keep our heart clean and refrain from sin. In the Bible, we see King David as a man who walked with God and was zealous to serve Him. Yet he fell into sin by committing adultery with Bathsheba, the wife of Uriah the Hittite (2 Sam. 11) and later on sending Uriah to the enemy front lines to be killed. When David’s sin was exposed by prophet Nathan, David wept and cried out to God for forgiveness. He prayed to God to give him a clean heart.
In our daily life, we are faced with temptations either in our work place or home. We need to put on the whole armour of God to resist the attack and temptations of the evil one (Eph. 6:11). God is very much interested in our character, and we are to be holy as our God is holy (1 Pet. 1:16). Our God is compassionate, slow to anger and willing to forgive our trespasses if we openly acknowledge our sins and come to Him with a clean heart.
