Read: Philippians 4:13
There are situations in life when we feel that our strength is not sufficient. We rely on friends or others to achieve certain things. We might feel that our energy is being drained off. When the Israelites were running from Pharaoh’s army, God divided the Red Sea for them, so they could cross through it, with their belongings and cattle. At other times, the Israelites had to fight with the other kings to obtain the Promised Land. There were times when they didn’t have any chariots or sufficient weaponry to fight these battles. However, God marvellously sent His army of horses and chariots of fire (2 Kings 6:17-18). It is better to trust in God than to depend on man.
Christ gives us strength to face trials. He equips us with the armour we need to face difficulties. “Therefore put on the full armour of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand” (Eph. 6:13). If we put our hope in the Lord, He will renew our strength like that of an eagle. If we put our trust in Him, we will not be weary or faint (Isa. 40:31). God is our refuge and strength, our very present help in times of trouble (Ps. 46:1). He is our rock, our fortress and deliverer (Ps. 18:2). We can seek comfort under His wings. There is nothing to fear, since God is always in control and He gives us strength for each day.
