Read: John 8:36
Imagine being trapped in a prison and waiting to be released. The trauma that a prisoner endures mentally and physically can take a toll on his health even after he is released from prison. Many in the church are under the bondage of Satan. They are bound by the spirit of jealousy, envy, pride, selfishness, etc. Although they are known as Christians and church-goers, they are living in a trapped life.
Jesus healed the demon possessed man from Gadarenes, who was tormented by the legion of demons. Jesus set him free from the clutches of Satan. The healed man wanted to accompany Jesus, but Jesus asked him to be a witness for Him to his family members (Luke 8:26-39). Jesus always had compassion on people, because they were like sheep without a shepherd (Matt. 9:36). Jesus healed a woman who was crippled by a spirit for 18 years. She was bent over and could not straighten at all (Luke 13:11-17). Imagine having a bent back and not able to look up for many years. Jesus put His hands on her and she was healed immediately and praised God.
It is the Lord’s Will to deliver us from sin and from the bondage of self. Jesus can set us free and use us as an effective witness for Him. John 8:36 says, “So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” Just as Jesus offered deliverance to the crippled woman, He is willing to completely deliver us from the bondage of sin. We need the Saviour for the deliverance from the clutches of Satan. Are you willing to be free? Jesus alone is the answer for your freedom.
