Read: Habakkuk 3:17-18

Not always are our prayers answered. When a situation like that arises, do we grumble and stop believing or rejoice in our God? The verse for today is a reminder to rejoice in our God despite the adverse circumstances. Are we able to rejoice and thank God when our prayers go unanswered? God has allowed some storms in our life so that He alone can be our life jacket. In fact, God hears all our prayers. Our cries are not hidden from Him. If we ask anything according to God’s will He will hear us (1 John 5:14). If it is not according to God’s will, it will be unanswered. “My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing” (James 1:2-4). The trials and difficulties that you face will help you to be a mature Christian.

Years later, when you look back, you will clearly be able to see why your prayers had gone unanswered. God will help you move forward and help you to cruise through the various obstacles that you face. The Bible says, “…the righteous will hold to his way, and he who has clean hands will be stronger and stronger” (Job 17:9).

Nothing should separate us from the love of Christ, even when our prayers go unanswered. Paul the apostle said, “I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Rom. 8:38-39).
