When we try to understand God, we picture Him to be omnipotent, omnipresent and omniscient. The Bible helps us to understand how awesome God is.
Some verses demonstrate His awesomeness:
- God’s plans and ways are infinitely different from our plans. His thoughts are beyond our understanding (Isa. 55:8-9).
- Our God is an everlasting God and the creator of the ends of the earth (Isa. 40:28).
- Our God is great, abundant in power and His understanding is beyond measure (Ps. 147:5).
- God has created the heavens, the moon, stars by the finger of His hands and He has placed them in their right place (Ps. 8:3-4).
- Our God is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and full of grace (Ps. 145:8).
- God knows us even before we are formed in our mother’s womb (Jer. 1:5).
- Our God is not partial and He does not accept bribe (Deut. 10:17).
- God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose (Rom. 8:28).
- Our God is a holy God (1 Pet. 1:15-16).
- The Lord is our light and our salvation. He is the defence of our life (Ps. 27:1).
- God is our refuge and strength, the very present help in time of trouble (Ps. 46:1).
- God has numbered the hairs on your head (Matt. 10:30), collected and recorded the tears that you have shed (Ps. 56:8) and inscribed your name on the palm of His hands (Isa. 49:16).
- Our God is a consuming fire (Heb. 12:29).
- Even if your parents forsake you, our God will never leave you, nor forsake you (Ps. 27:10).
All these verses give us a greater understanding of how awesome our God is. Let us lean on Him alone.
