Read: Genesis 18:9-15
When we struggle to find answers for our present condition, we worry, fret, complain and get disappointed with God. It is very normal to feel that way due to our human nature. The Bible clearly teaches us that “Nothing is hard for our God.” He is able to answer our prayers in His time. If He needs to prepare us, there might be delay in our plans, but not His. Abraham and Sarah were old and waiting for God’s promise to be fulfilled. From a human viewpoint, it was impossible for Sarah to conceive at the age of 90. But with God all things are possible. We have to believe in our heart that all things are possible by God. Abraham and Sarah received their son Isaac in their old age as God promised. God kept His promise that He would multiply Abraham’s descendants as the stars of the sky and the sands on the sea shore (Gen. 12:1-3).
With God nothing is impossible (Luke 1:37). Mary was a virgin when Jesus was conceived in her womb by the Holy Spirit. She was an unmarried woman when the angel Gabriel approached her with this news. She wilfully accepted God’s plan for her life. Mary did not regret for the fact that she might be socially outcast for conceiving before marriage. She surrendered herself to God’s plan in her life (Luke 1:26-38).
When situations around us appear to be difficult, let us look to God and seek His face. There is no promise that is too hard for the Lord to fulfil. There is no prayer that God cannot answer and there is no problem that is hard for the Lord to solve. Trust and believe that God will be able to answer your prayers by continually asking, seeking and knocking.
