Read: Exodus 14:1-14
Has anyone asked you “Are you part of the problem or part of the solution?” Whether this question is put forth during an interview, a church council, or a family discussion, the answer will be a matter of perspective.
In Exod. 14:1-3, we see God telling Moses to instruct the Israelites to camp in a way that Pharaoh would attack them. The Israelites thought they were going to die, but God said that He would gain glory and honour for Himself through Pharaoh and his army, “the Egyptians may know that I am the Lord” (Exod. 14:4). In fact, God had a different plan altogether. He did not just have the plan of saving His people, but He also wanted to make His name glorious.
When we simply cannot understand why God allows circumstances that threaten to crush us, it is good to remember that He has our good and His glory in mind. If we are able to say with faith, “Father, please enable me to trust and honour You in this situation,” we will be in line with His perspective and plan for our lives.
