Read: Psalm 1
There is a saying which says: ‘A person is known by the friends he keeps.’ A close inspection of the lives of criminals and those with depraved minds reveals that their behaviours came from the bad company they kept in their formative years. In the corporate world, many companies while screening job applicants, search the social network for the candidates’ background and friendships. No one would hire anyone who keeps bad company.
The wicked are always scheming the downfall of others. They are planning for the hurt of others. They live immorally and their minds are depraved. They do not care about God’s wrath or His judgement. Such people will not do any good but scorn others who are trying to do some good. Ps. 1:1 says, “Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful.”
What kind of friendships do you have? What kind of friends do your children have? Do we have good godly company or those who have no use for God? Let us be careful in choosing our friends because they have a great influence on us. Let us ask the Lord to help us choose the right friends.
