Read: Psalm 7:11-13
Our God is just, which means that He is impartial and cannot tolerate mistreatment or oppression of His creation. God’s ear is open to the cry of His people. He hears the prayers of the widows, the orphans (Exod. 22:22-24) and anyone who is crying out to God for help. The Scriptures show God as “the righteous Judge.” As a righteous Judge, He demands righteousness and cannot tolerate sin. He laid down His commandments in the Law that He gave the Israelites on Mount Sinai through Moses. The purpose of the Law was to point the people to sin. “For by works of the law no human being will be justified in His sight, since through the law comes knowledge of sin.” (Rom. 3:20).
