Read: Proverbs 16:9
We must accept life on its terms, and not our own. Life has a way of unfolding, not as we will, but as it wills. And sometimes there is very little we can do to change things. When events transpire beyond our control, we have a choice: We can either learn the art of acceptance, or we can make ourselves miserable as we struggle to change the unchangeable.
For a Christian there is hope. We can entrust everything to our heavenly Father. It is always wise to entrust everything, especially the things we cannot change to God. Once we have done that, we can prayerfully and patiently wait for His move, and work on the things we can change or do in His wisdom. Can you think of something in your life that you tried to change which was unchangeable? What was the outcome? From today onwards, can you entrust everything to God, especially those things over which you have no control?
Prov. 16:9 says, “A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps.” The sovereignty of the Lord surpasses everything, and we as His children can safely entrust everything we have and face to God.
