Read: Matthew 9:35-38
God has created us in this world for a purpose. He has given us the responsibility to share the gospel to those who do not know Jesus. We must feel the burden for our family members, friends, colleagues, or even strangers who have not known Christ. God has given you the duty to sow the seeds like a sower, water it, and let God give the increase in productivity (1 Cor. 3:6).
From a farmer’s point of view, if the harvest is plenty, he would rejoice. But he would also think of quickly harvesting the produce with maximum labourers before the produce goes to waste. Similarly, God wants us to know that we have much work to do and little time to do it. There is an urgency in the situation. Jesus said to His followers, “Open your eyes and look at the fields, they are ripe for harvest” (John 4:35). Another time Jesus said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the labourers are few. Therefore, pray the Lord of the harvest to send out labourers into His harvest” (Matt. 9:37-38).
We can take the responsibility of the field or ground that God has given us and do the work as His labourer (bond servant). We can pray for them to seek and know Jesus. Jesus commissioned His disciples, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you…” (Matt. 28:19-20). It is the mandatory responsibility of every disciple of Jesus, and no one can shirk from it.
