Read: Exodus 4:10-17

In 1986, the world-renowned evangelist Billy Graham was speaking to a large gathering of Christian leaders and evangelists in Amsterdam. As he was narrating his experiences, he said, “Every time I stand before the congregation of God’s people to preach, I tremble and my knees wobble!” How can such a great preacher exhibit this behaviour? He went on to describe that it was not fear or stage fright, but the meekness as he felt inadequate for the overwhelming task for which God had called him. He relied on God’s strength and not in his abilities.

Moses felt inadequate when God called him to deliver the Israelites from Egypt. In fact, he even pleaded with God to send someone else saying that he was not a good speaker (Exod. 4:10, 13). God even became angry because Moses was resisting what He had asked him to do (Exod. 4:14).

When God calls us to do something, we also may have similar fears. But we can take courage in what God told Moses and that is what God says to us today, “Go, and I will be with your mouth and teach you what you shall say” (Exod. 4:12). Whatever task for which God is calling you today, depend on Him by asking for His help. Wherever God sends us, He comes with us.
