Read: Exodus 35

God has blessed us with unique gifts and talents which set us apart from each other. Everyone is unique in his or her talents. Some might be good singers, musicians, artisans, writers (scribes), etc.  “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning” (James 1:17).

When the Israelites were in the wilderness, God asked them to build a tabernacle to offer sacrifices to the Lord. The tabernacle required the Ark of the Covenant, mercy seat, table, brazen laver, materials for the tent, carpentry, perfumery, clothing for priests, embroidery design works to be done precisely as God had commanded Moses to do. God blessed Bezalel and Aholiab with the Spirit of God, in wisdom and understanding, in knowledge and all manner of workmanship, to design artistic works, to work in gold and silver and bronze, in cutting jewels for setting, in carving wood, and to work in all manner of artistic workmanship. God blessed them with the skill to do all manner of work of the engraver and the designer and the tapestry maker, in blue, purple, and scarlet thread, and fine linen, and of the weave to design artistic works (Exod. 35:30-35).

God has given us various talents to glorify Him. He doesn’t want them to go waste. Eph. 2:10 says, “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” And “As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God” (1 Pet. 4:10).
