Read: Romans 12:14-21

There are times when we are angry when someone has spoken ill about us or done something to hurt us purposely. We tend to lash back against them, thus damaging a relationship or even our testimony as Christians. Sometimes as Christians, we might be persecuted for our faith. Christ showed that He was the perfect example of overcoming evil with good. Jesus forgave His enemies by dying on the cross for their sins. Jesus taught us to show the other cheek too if someone slapped on one cheek (Luke 6:29).

We are to bless those who persecute us and not curse them (Rom. 12:14). Pray for those who mistreat us (Luke 6:28). God knows every trouble we face, and nothing is hidden from His presence.  We are to live in peace with everyone (Rom. 12:18) whether it be at home or at a church or at a workplace. If our enemy is hungry, we are to feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink, in doing this we will heap burning coals on his head (Rom. 12:20), which means our good actions would snub the person who wronged us. If someone has wronged us, God will repay that person for their actions, as vengeance is of the Lord (Rom. 12:19). You do not have to move your finger at all. God will defend the weak and the needy and deliver the righteous of all their afflictions (Ps. 34:19).
