Read: Acts 9:1-7
Many people have met Jesus either in a vision or in their dreams. After their encounter with Christ, they are never able to hide their experience. They become effective witnesses for the Lord. Saul (Paul the apostle) met Jesus on his way to Damascus (Acts 9). After Paul’s experience with the Lord, his life was transformed. He never cared for his life anymore. He went to synagogues and openly preached about Jesus Christ, though he faced threats from all sides.
When Jesus meets anyone, He gives new life to them. When Jesus met the Samaritan woman by the well, He told her to crave for “the living water” (John 4:10). Her life was transformed after she met Jesus and she went and proclaimed to many people in Samaria that Jesus was the Messiah (John 4:39). Jesus sets people free from bondage after they have encountered Him. When the demon-possessed man met Jesus, he was freed from the demons that possessed him (Mark 5:1-20). When we have an encounter with Jesus, our lives are transformed. The life of Nicodemus the Pharisee was transformed when he met Jesus (John 3).
The Bible says, “The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves such as have a contrite spirit” (Ps. 34:18). Again, “The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him in truth” (Ps. 145:18). Jesus is near to those who sincerely desire His presence. Are you willing to have a personal encounter with Jesus?
