Read: Psalm 27:14
All of us tend to hurry so much. Yet the best things that God has for us often take some time to mature. That is the reason why we must patiently wait on Him and not run ahead of Him. Someone once said, “Give God time, and even when the knife flashes in the air, the ram will be seen in the thicket. Give God time, and even when Pharaoh’s army is fast approaching, a path through the waters will be suddenly opened. Give God time, and when the bed of the brook is dry, Elijah will hear the Guiding Voice.”
Heb. 12:1 says that we are to “run with endurance the race that is set before us.” It takes genuine faith and trust in God for one to have a great weight on one’s heart and still run, to have a deep grief in one’s spirit and still perform the daily tasks, knowing that God is in control. In fact, it is Christ-like nature. We are required to patiently wait for God and His intervention even as we go about our daily lives.
We should never try to jump ahead of God’s timing and miss out on God’s best for our lives. God’s promises are always sure and His mercies are truly great. Expectantly wait on Him and His provision. He is neither late nor early. He is always on time. Jesus said, “By your patience possess your souls” (Luke 21:19).
